SCOTTISH CULTURE

22nd April-They emigrated to the USA

Go find you textbook ...OK, let's open it at 82 . Read the dialogue and think about exercise 2.
New words ? Online dictionaries , you know .

Then, let me remind you the difference between USED TO (am obisnuit sa .../ obisnuiam sa .../ in trecut )   and BE USED TO (sunt obisnuit sa .../in prezent ).

Beside the fact that USED TO talks about past habits and BE USED TO talks about present habits , the latter is followed by an -ING form . Ex :

When I was 5 , I used to ask " Why ? " continuously . ( I don't do that anymore )
During this pandemic lockdown the hardest thing for me is that I am not used to staying inside such a long period of time . I am used to walking a lot and now this is impossible.

You can practice more with ex 5 / 83. You can write it on your notebook .

This particular grammar point will be reviewed in our video meeting next Wednesday from 2 pm.

Then you can go to 86 where you have another brief explanation regarding clauses of purpose ( scop)

Below you have a video explaining this grammar point . In the second part of the video you can also practice what you have learnt .

From your textbook you can go on with 9/ 86 .
